I am a Web Developer, Software Engineer, DDI Engineer, and Leader with over a decade of experience working for firms large and small in various industries, such as Wells Fargo Bank, Goldman Sachs, and most recently Five9, Inc. I have built, enhanced and maintained applications. I have raised and documented standards, policies and processes. I am trained and practiced in servant leadership.
When I am not thinking of or implementing technical solutions to better the world around me, I can often be found swimming in the local community pool, spending time with family...playing or watching soccer, jigsaw puzzling, binging Netflix or DisneyPlus, hiking trails throughout the western United States, or just chilling in the backyard.
I strongly believe in giving back to the community by donating my time and efforts to those in need. I have provided technical advice to the I-TESOL group in keeping up their website and hosting technical conferences. I have taught basic English language skills to refugees trained and employed at the LDS Humanitarian Center.
Experienced Software and Quality Engineer with solid skills in JavaScript (Node.js and related frameworks), Perl, HTML, CSS, and DDI. Test GUI and code-based changes with manual and automated use cases.
Practiced and certified in Agile philosophy for development and engineering workflows. Mentor and coach others in organized progress toward achieving desired objectives.

Designed, built, and deployed custom scripts using Perl and SQL commands to produce customer data feeds and reports using data from customer Five9 and partner contact center data. Maintained CentOS VM servers, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, and network/firewall architecture and connections in both legacy datacenters and Google Cloud (GCP) projects. Documented process, architecture, and How-To articles using Confluence, SharePoint, MS Word and Markdown formats.

Promoted from Network Engineer to Technical Team Lead for DDI-Operations team. Created Perl tool to build nightly DDI HTML change statistical reports and to support Enterprise projects. Migrated from vendor proprietary Perl drivers to industry-standard REST API configurations. Migrated mail records (3,000 domains) using Perl and shell script automation because the DNS records weren’t included in the project. Within a few weeks, I had the whole thing implemented without any additional cost. Streamlined Perl code to add 30% accuracy and efficiency to import and validation process, to enhance security measures, and to reduce errors for an average of 1,000 to 10,000 nightly DDI object changes. Enhanced and maintained internal DDI Request System based on Perl CGI, Apache, jQuery, XHTML, XML and CSV code. Planned and began migration of team-managed Subversion code and configuration repositories to enterprise GitHub repository platform.
Aug 2008 to Jul 2015
Provided engineering and support for enterprise DDI infrastructure, applications, and tools. Increased productivity by creating and enhancing automation using Korn Shell Scripts on Linux servers for DDI import processing and validation on VitalQIP and Infoblox IPAM solutions. Took lead in consolidating documentation during Wells Fargo and Wachovia merger and participated in migrating workflow and implementation systems and procedures for Analysts. Created first complete set of documentation and network diagrams using Visio, PDF, MS Word and SharePoint platforms. Learned Perl in addition to advanced shell scripting for better understanding of team applications and tools.
